Bill Rapp is the Title Sponsor for the "Bark"
The second annual BARK on the BOULEVARD will be held on Saturday, September 17th at Helping Hounds Dog Rescue, located at 6606 Kinne Road, Dewitt, NY 13214 (near the Macy's entrance at Shoppingtown Mall.). Registration begins at 9:00AM; tails start wagging at 10!
This family event will be filled with fun, food, music, raffles, furry friends. HHDR is also pleased that Kaylea Nixon, Co-Host of Channel 9's Bridge Street, will be on hand. It is a great opportunity to spend the day outdoors and enjoy one of the last days of the summer. Look for the tent set up in the parking lot off Kinne Road. Be sure to bring your pet.
There will also be lots of dogs from the rescue hoping to find their "forever" homes that day. Prospective adopters can fill out an adoption application right there at the event. It is a chance for interested adopters to meet and get to know the available pets and talk to others who have previously adopted from HHDR. The event kicks off at 10:00AM with a ceremonial pet walk around the Shoppingtown Mall parking lot.

This event is extremely important for the Rescue. IT IS A FUND RAISER! The Bark is critical to HHDR's ability to pay for the care and medical costs for the dogs, kennel building and facilities. The kennel has lots of expenses and is continually struggling for enough funds to keep the doors open. The relatively small adoption fee paid for a dog is not nearly enough to cover the Rescue's operating costs. Veterinary bills (vaccines, spay/neuter and medications), food, rent, utilities, building maintenance and repair, transportation and many more expenses need to be paid on an ongoing basis.
There will be several table top exhibits from local businesses and organizations and additional sponsors are solicited. Thanks to all sponsors who have already made a commitment. Click on the Sponsorship Application link at the top left side of the page to get information on how you can help HHDR through sponsorship at this event. A small donation will be appreciated from the attendees. Come one, come all. See you there. If you can't make it to the Bark, please consider a donation via online payment. Click here: |
